Champions League
Gareth Bale starred for Real Madrid as they reached their first Champions League final since 2002 with a 4-0 away victory over holders Bayern Munich and an aggregate score of 5-0. Bale was very much praised for his contribution, which included the assist for Real’s third goal, the first of two for Cristiano Ronaldo. Real will face local rivals Atletico Madrid in the final.
Hi Neil, here's the latest round-up. I also have some news alerts, but I need to double-check you haven't picked them up already.Â

Championship
Jack Collison was an unused substitute as Wigan Athletic sealed their place in the play-offs with a game to spare. They travelled to Birmingham City, who needed a point to climb out of the relegation zone. However, Wigan won the match 1-0. Emyr Huws’ curling shot looked like it was going in for Birmingham, but Wigan’s keeper had other ideas. This is Birmingham’s fifth consecutive defeat and they’re without a win in 18 home league games.

Morgan Fox picked up his second assist in two games and also played a part in Charlton Athletic’s second goal as Charlton got the points they needed to avoid relegation. Charlton won 3-1 at home to Watford. Former Wales youth international Jonathan Bond, now an England under-21 international (whatever turns you on), was in goal for Watford.

League One
Joe Walsh helped Crawley Town to keep a clean sheet at home to Carlisle United in a 0-0 draw. The result was not enough to lift Carlisle out of the relegation zone – they must beat champions Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday to have any chance of staying up. No pressure, then. Gwion Edwards also played for Crawley and showed enough attacking threat for the Crawley manager to want him back next season.

James Wilson scored first goal for Oldham Athletic – a powerful header - after seventeen minutes, but he and his team-mates had to settle for a 1-1 draw after visitors Sheffield United equalised late on. Kieron Freeman started in defence for Sheff Utd while Ben Davies was a 78th-minute substitute. Oldham are now unbeaten in nine league games
