    Jason Brown (Aberdeen) has been called up with Wayne Hennessey out as well, he has a sore ankle.

    Craig Bellamy will captain Wales in the absence of Aaron Ramsey. "For obvious reasons Craig will lead the side. He knew Gary better than anybody, he is a close friend of the Speed family and it seems only right that he should lead Wales on the night" - Osian Roberts.

    The squad will train at the CCS on Tuesday 28th February at 4pm. Osian Roberts will hold a press conference earlier at 1:30pm, this at a different venue.



    Wales captain Aaron Ramsey, will miss the match with Costa Rica. Aaron was injured for his club Arsenal against Stoke City and will not be available for selection. Boaz Myhill is a doubt, he has an achilles injury.

    The opponents will be Costa Rica. Gary made his international debut for Wales against Costa Rica back in May 1990 at Ninian Park in Cardiff, and Wales won by a goal to nil.

    Cardiff City Stadium will host the game . Tickets will be priced at ten pounds for adults and five pounds for juniors and senior citizens.

    Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, January 11th and are available from the Cardiff City Ticket Office on 0845 345 1400 and online at www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk.

    Ten per cent of all profits will go to charities.

    This will be an opportunity to celebrate the life and achievements of a great servant to Welsh football both as a player and as a manager.

    NEWS: End of season friendly. Mexico v Wales

    According to reports, The Football Association of Wales are lining up a friendly against Mexico in New York which is pencilled in for the end of May or start of June.

    Mexico have FIFA World Cup matches in June, along with a friendly against Brazil.

    Gary Speed has named a 24-man squad for the Vauxhall friendly against Norway.

    Out are Boaz Myhill, Danny Collins (wife had a baby), James Collins and David Vaughan (groin injury), called up are Lewis Price and Lewin Nyatanga. Jack Collison has also been forced to pull out. No other replacements have been named.  Simon Church is also saying he has pulled out in order to be fully fit for his next club game.

    The FAW has confirmed the Vauxhall International Friendly between Wales and Norway.

    The game will take place on Saturday, 12th November, 2011 at the Cardiff City Stadium. Kick off at 3pm.


    Update on Wales' friendly next month. Sgorio understands that Norway will be Wales' opponents on Saturday November 12th, match to be played in South Wales.

    Update on Wales playing France next month. According to the French Football Federation website, France will be playing Belgium and the USA.

    According to reports this morning Wales are set to travel to Costa Rica next month for their first friendly match ahead of the 2014 World Cup.

    Gary Speed’s Wales side suffered their fourth defeat in five games ahead of the Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro in September.

    The FAW confirms that the match does go ahead the FAW has been in regular contact with the South Wales Police and there are no issues at this time.

    The squad have reported to the team Hotel ahead of the game (Sunday). Owain Tudor Jones (Inverness) added to squad. Out are Sam Vokes (Wolves - ankle injury), Andrew Crofts (Norwich City - ankle injury) and James Collins (Aston Villa - back injury). Ched Evans will not play he has an ankle problem.

    Ticket news: Just over 5k (Monday 8th), allocation for Away supporters is just under 2k.
