2006 World Cup
Wales’ first game in their 2006 World Cup campaign will take place in Baku on Saturday September 4th.

The game will kick off at 9pm local time (5pm UK) and will be played at the Republican Stadium. The last time Wales played the Azeri in Baku, goals from Gary Speed and John Hartson gave Mark Hughes side a 2-0 win in a Euro 2004 qualifying match.

The U-21 game will be at the Shafa Stadium, and will be played on the September 3rd kick-off is yet to be confirmed.

Hughes meeting
Manager Mark Hughes will meet the FAW officials at the beginning of this week.

Under discussion will be the arrangements for the friendly match against Latvia in August, and the opening two games in the 2006 World Cup qualifying campaign against Azerbaijan and Northern Ireland. 

The meeting is due to be held on Monday morning in Cardiff.
