Wales football news - September 2002.

Top form.
With around three weeks to go before the Italy game, the current form of players at club level is still high after the Finland game.

With some of the so-called lesser players like Savage, Johnson and Pembridge hitting top form, the superb club form of many of the team can only benefit Wales.

One note of worry might be Wales' last line of defence with Paul Jones having just lost his place for his club.

Hughes no fear.
A week on after the first Euro 2004 qualifier and Mark Hughes is looking ahead to the clash against Italy next month.

It has been a fantastic twelve months for Wales with the team unbeaten in six international matches, with three wins and three draws.

With the Italian game just a month away these are exciting times.

"Our win in Finland sets up the clash perfectly. These days, we have no reason to fear anyone." - Mark Hughes
