Elliott Hewitt (Ipswich/Gillingham - defender) Has been challenged by manager Mick McCarthy to come out of the cold after being dropped and sent out on loan to Gillingham to get games. Hewitt suffered an ankle injury against Stevenage, in a game which he operated in an unfamiliar holding midfield role.
Emyr Huws (Man City - midfielder) Was an unused sub as Man City faced Plzen in the Champions League. It will have been another valuable experience for the midfielder – who was also called into the Wales senior squad for the friendly against Finland.
Tom Lawrence (Man Utd - midfielder) Will spend the next month on loan at Carlisle as Man Utd look to give the Wrexham born youngster some exposure to senior football. "Tom was someone we have seen a lot over the last few weeks and months and he can change or win a game. He'll give us pace and athleticism and he handles the ball really well. He's aggressive in the right way and he's going to give us even more options up front. He can play anywhere across that front line and he can play off the shoulder as a number nine. He's a good one for us to have." Graham Kavanagh
Gethin Jones (Everton - defender) Won the battle of the mini-derby as the U18's beat rivals Liverpool 3-1 on Tuesday afternoon. Harry Wilson (Liverpool - midfielder) started for the Reds.
Aaron Phillips (Coventry - defender) Was back in the starting line up for the Sky Blues as they took on Rotherham on Tuesday evenimng. The full back played 90 minutes in the 3-0 defeat.
Josh Pritchard (Fulham - midfielder) May well head out on loan again as the club look for the Wales U21 international to gain more first team experience. "Josh is back. Hopefully he will get the opportunity to go on loan and get games under his belt. The structure in the club is that once they've played in the Under-21s for six months to a year they have to go on loan." Martin Jol
Curtis Strong (Stoke - defender) Managed 90 minutes for the U18's as they drew 0-0 with Bolton last weekend. Strong has missed a lot of football this season due to injury and 90 minutes for his club will have boosted confidence and fitness.Â
George Williams (Fulham - striker) Scored from the spot as the U18's were defeated by West Ham. Williams and Jordan Evans (fulham - midfielder) were playing their first games since returning from Wales U19 duty. |
