Welsh Football Welsh football stars Ramsey, Ledley and Gunter join Gethin Jones in search of Vauxhall Motors.
Welsh football heroes Aaron Ramsey, Joe Ledley and Chris Gunter swapped their football boots for scorecards as the trio teamed up with Vauxhall Motors and Gethin Jones to hunt for the ultimate Welsh #GetIN goal celebration ahead of the big summer of football in France.
Ramsey, Ledley and Gunter kicked off Vauxhall's campaign by becoming judges, auditioning the Welsh public and reenacting their own cult dance celebration, first performed when Wales qualified. In true talent show fashion - the weird and wonderful acts flocked to perform in front of the famous judges - triggering a range of reactions including utter shock, amusement, amazement and everything in between.Â
Welsh midfielder, Aaron Ramsey was unable to hide his surprise when he saw an old school friend audition, whilst both he and Chris Gunter had to shield themselves from an overzealous swordsman who twirled a 2ft sharp metal sword in front of the startled judges' faces.
As much as he tried to hide it, dance sensation Joe Ledley could not hold back the laughter as one performer unleashed an unusual Russian style jig and Gunter informed one hopeful that he was lucky not to be given the red card for his unimpressive performance.
Gethin managed to keep a professional face even when confronted with some of the slightly less conventional goal celebrations – including singer Megan Jones from Hay-on-Wye who performed a patriotic Men of Harlech before reaching up to give Gethin a hug.
The player judges were most impressed with the 5-aside football team from Leith who beat off other competition by forming a human bicycle. The boys scored a perfect 30 out of 30 and their unique celebration will now become the official #GetIN celebration for Wales this summer and will be performed at a live event by the talented winners.Â
Gethin Jones said, "Aaron, Joe and Chris made superb judges and if they ever decide to leave football, and Simon Cowell is looking for a new judge, look no further! #GetIN – not to be confused with #Gethin – is a campaign which will get us all excited as we watch our teams play in France. We all dream about how we'd celebrate if we scored that winning goal. As a Welshman, I am typically patriotic and love the idea of us all getting behind our stars with a unified celebration. Some of the guys that came to audition were absolutely hilarious and some were just terrifying but the bicycle boys were definitely a well-deserved winning team".
Aaron Ramsey said, "Chris, Joe and I all had a lot of fun judging the Vauxhall #GetIN celebrations for Wales. We all really got into it and hope the Welsh public do too. As well as some funny auditions -Â and a few slightly weird ones – most of the talent we saw were really good. I'll be borrowing a few of the moves myself and I'll have to get some of the other boys together to see if we can top the Bicycle Boys' routine in France."
As official sponsor of the Wales football team, Vauxhall Motors launched #GetIN to find a signature celebration that the public can collectively adopt to show their support for Wales.
"We wanted to do something that brought the Welsh public together to get behind the boys this summer" said Andrew Curley, Head of Sponsorship and Events at Vauxhall Motors. "The summer of football gives us lots of collective moments to celebrate from a winning goal on the pitch to a BBQ with friends with the game on – these are the #GetIN moments we want Wales to celebrate together. To inspire the public to get involved, we'll be hosting the audition content as well as other fun content on vauxhallfootball.co.uk and search #GetIN for more behind-the-scenes content, competitions and exclusive access to the teams."
