| Daniel James has wasted no time in reminding who is the fastest | Premier league clubs are one by one returning to training this week following the unanimous vote to resume training in small groups earlier on in the week.
With the long lay off, teams will be concentrating on getting fitness levels back to where they should be in hope of the Premier League season restarting around the middle of June.
Daniel James has wasted no time in reminding his colleagues who is the fastest on the pitch as Man Utd put their players through various fitness tests, one of which was tracking sprint speeds over 5.5 meters. According to the Manchester Evening news, the Welsh speed demon recorded the fastest time with a top speed of 36.8 km/h over the short distance.
James is well known for his speed so it will not be much of a surprise to many to hear about his blistering pace. With pace not being an issue he will hope to work on other areas of his game when competitive football resumes. In his first season at United he managed 4 goals and 6 assists in all competitions with an average player rating of 6.73. An encouraging start but certainly room for improvement.
Not only will he be trying to add to his stats at United, he will surely have more than one eye on improving his record for the Welsh team as well. Since his debut in 2018 he has managed just the 2 goals in all competitions. No doubt he will be an integral part of the team as Wales look to go far at Euro 2021 after the competition was postponed a year due to the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic. The tournament has now been provisionally scheduled to start 11th June 2021 although this will depend on a number of factors, one of which will be how nations across the world come to terms with the current worldwide pandemic.
Wales have been drawn in Group A along with Turkey, Italy and Switzerland. It's fair to say that there won't be any easy games in the group stages for Wales and they will need players like James performing at their best to qualify for the knockout stages. Wales are currently best priced 7/1 to win their group at Euro 2021.
