Jack Bodenham (Cardiff City), born 1999, Defender After a couple of years as a member of the Cardiff City academy teams, Jack moved on to be a scholar at the club. He did well enough in the two seasons playing for the U-18 team to be offered a fulltime professional contract in the summer of 2018. Since that time, he has been a member of the U-23 squad although he has also spent time away from the club to gain some valuable first team football experience. He did well when loaned out Cymru Premier team TNS during the second half of the 2018/19 season and was also with Hereford for the first half of last season. This season he has remained at the club and played for the U-23 team as he works on his game and tries to perform at a level that may get him some first team consideration to add to his sole appearance on the bench for an EFL Cup tie in 2019. There may be a possibility that a loan assignment might occur during the second half of this season so that he can add to what was gained on first team duty in that respect previously.
Joe Lewis (Swansea City), born 1999, Defender Joe joined the Swansea academy at a very young age and consequently represented the club for many seasons in his progression as a schoolboy. Not surprisingly, he became a scholar at the club after the completion of that time, impressing the club's management team and securing a professional contract in the summer of 2018. A good 2018/19 season playing regularly for the Swansea U-23 team was followed by season long loan assisting Torquay in the last campaign. He certainly exhibited his capability to perform adequately in the National League making over two dozen appearances for the Devonshire side in his time with them. This season Joe has been playing for the Swansea U-23 team and has been a member of the Wales U-21 squads that have been selected for representative duty in each of the international breaks that have occurred. With an established defensive partnership available for the games, Joe has been on the bench during each occasion but did make a brief substitute appearance in their last game as he completed his eligibility for the team.
Morgan Roberts (Northampton Town), born 2000, Midfielder Local born Morgan has been involved with various teams at the Cobblers for a decade, starting out with their academy team before becoming a scholar at the club. He did well with the U-18's and was a very important contributor to the successful run the team had in the FA Youth Cup in the 2018/19 season. He signed a fulltime professional contract with the club at the end of that season and has been involved with the first team on numerous occasions since that time, accumulating well into double digit appearance numbers as well as many other occasions when he has been on the bench. Last season he had a couple of short loan periods at local non-league clubs, AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Banbury United and his performances for them greatly impressed those in attendance at the games. He is now seemingly established as a member of the Northampton first team squad and his aim now will be to develop his game, as he tries to become a regular starting selection by his manager. Morgan has not as yet represented Wales, his only involvement being one of those assembled for an U-21 training camp in the spring of 2019. He may well be under strong consideration for the U-21's next season as a large portion of those presently in the squad will no longer be eligible at that time.
Billy Sass-Davies (Crewe Alexandra ¿ on loan at Altrincham), born 2000, Defender Now in his third season as a fulltime professional with Crewe, Billy is presently playing for Altrincham after having recently joined them on a short term loan deal. He is adding further first team experience to what he has gathered during multiple loan assignments over the last few seasons. He made his first team debut for Crewe when, as a second year scholar, he played in an EFL Trophy match in the 2017/18 season. Later that season he was loaned to Colwyn Bay and was praised for his performances for them. The management team rued his unavailability for one of their games as he was called up for duty with the Wales U-19 team. In his first season as a professional in 2018/19, he made his league debut for the Crewe, appearing in a couple of late season League 2 matches. Last season he played in a cup game and made quite a few appearances on the bench in league matches as well as spending long periods away from the club, when on loan at AFC Telford and Aston United. This season he has played in cup games and been on the bench for league matches prior to the loan arrangement.
Momodou Touray (Salford City ¿ on loan at Marine), born 1999, Forward Quite a few years of association with Newport County came to an end for Mo in the summer, when a decision was made not to extend his contract. Signing a professional contract in 2017 at the completion of his time as a scholar at the club, he made one first team appearance for Newport when playing around ten minutes in a game late in the 2017/18 season. Well regarded by management at the club as a potential first team player, he also made numerous appearances on the bench and may have made appearances in EFL Trophy matches had he not been out on loan. He assisted Barry Town in the Cymru Premier for the major part of two seasons, gaining a good deal of praise for his performances for them. He joined Salford to become part of their U-23 squad at the start of this season, and is currently loaned out to Marine. He has helped the club do well in the FA Cup as they look forward to their second round tie against fellow non-league opposition at the end of the month. The winners will of course enjoy the thrill of participation in the third round of the tournament. In recent days, Mo was again on duty with the Wales U-21 team, scoring in one of their games as he ends his eligibility for that level of international football.
