Wales to host U19 finals in 2026

New format from 2024/25

New format for the UEFA under 17 championships confirmed from 2024/25

(Players born after 1st January 2008)

First Round – Group matches - Sep to Nov 2024
14 groups of 4 or 3 nations

Second Round -  Feb to Mar 2025
Nations then split into 2 Leagues A and B
League A – 7 groups of 4 nations
League B – 7 groups of 4 or 3 nations
14 group winners/runners up from the First round will qualify for League A

Results in the second round will a provide a promotion and relegation scenario for the Under 19 matches during the 2026/27 season
The 2026/27 Under 19 tournament in a League based format - (Players born after 1st January 2008)

The Finals tournament will consist of 8 nations - May to Jun 2025
Group winners from the Second Round (League A) and host nation
*If the host nation is a League A winner, the best-ranked runner-up will qualify
