Gareth Bale: photo linked from faw.org.ukBALE AWARD
Gareth Bale has won the Football Association of Wales Player of the Year award for the second year running.

"Obviously I am very pleased to win the award again, it’s very special to me to be chosen twice like this. It is a great award to win, a real honour. There are some really great names on the list who have won this award before me, it is an honour to be bracketed with them. Things have started to go well for me, for my club as well as for Wales. My am is to keep that level of performance going in every game."

Ashley Williams won the Welsh Club Player of the Year for a third successive year, while club-mate Joe Allen won the young player prize. The awards, voted by journalist and broadcasters, cover the period from October 2010 to October 2011.

The Welsh national football team face a busy few days in the latest round of Euro 2012 qualifiers with a home game against Switzerland on 7 October and a trip to Sofia to play Bulgaria four days later.

Following the recent away win against Montenegro and the narrow defeat to England hopes are rising that Welsh fortunes are on the rise.

Manager Gary Speed is expected to field a strong side against a Swiss team who are still in the hunt to qualify for the finals in Poland and Ukraine, knowing that a win in Swansea and victory over Montenegro in the final match will secure second place in the group and a place in the play-offs.

Would love to join Indonesian National Team for games vs Iran/Bahrein but my priority is with Wales to play Montenegro/England on Sep 2 & 6

Just done some photos in the new welsh kit.looks pretty good!
     Aaron Ramsey 3 Aug 11]

In our first 6 months with Wales we have been very busy to optimize the working environment for the players and all the staff members.
Hopefully, all Welsh players have survived pre-season in Jurassic Park and are still fit & fresh so we can play with our strongest team. Raymond Verheijen 3 Aug 11]

After speaking with all the people involved I have decided not to get involved with PL club as combination with Wales was no option.
Leaving Wales for PL was never an option as I'm totally committed to our mission & there will be enough PL opportunities in future anyway.
[assistant coach Raymond Verheijen 30 Jun 11]

In upcoming days I have to think hard about dilemma. Had good offer from top Premier League club but they don't want combination with Wales.
I totally understand their position as they want to avoid a potential conflict of interest in the future. But I want to stay with Wales. [assistant coach Raymond Verheijen 27 Jun 11]

Looking forward to my trip to Cardiff next month to prepare our next camp in August. Working with Wales has been very interesting so far. Before you can even think about qualifying for World Cup 2014 you first have to identify & address all these problems on & off the pitch. [assistant coach Raymond Verheijen 17 Jun 11]

I have been released, hopefully find a new club asap

At airport on my way to Cardiff. Tomorrow planning play off training schedule CB. Friday Wales national team staff meeting. [assistant coach Raymond Verheijen 4 May 11]

Between August 2011 & August 2012 we've 12 months to develop a team capable of qualifying. In that period we should only talk about football. The fact that Wales has not qualified for a tournament for 53 years has to do with reasons both on & off the pitch. [assistant coach Raymond Verheijen 5 Apr 11]

Although several players spoke publicly about one of the best weeks in their career we still have to improve dramatically in a lot of areas. [assistant coach Raymond Verheijen 3 Apr 11]

    Wednesday 14th September 2011

FAWFAW FANS PLAYER OF THE SEASON
The FAW is introducing a Fans Player of the Season Award that can be voted for online - by you!

On Tuesday 4th October, the annual SA Brains / FAW Awards evening will be held in Cardiff at the National Museum. It will be a star-studded evening with the senior squad in attendance before the match later in the week with Switzerland at the Liberty Stadium, Swansea. There will also be many former internationals at the evening also, to mark last season's achievements.

For the first time, we are giving the fans a chance to vote for their player of the season for 2010/11. All you need to do is go to the link below and fill-in your details and choose the player from the short-list provided. Votes must be in by 5pm, Friday 23rd September 2011. One lucky voter will have the chance to win a fully signed football by the Wales squad.

So, tell your friends to get voting. Will it be Gareth Bale, Craig Bellamy, Robert Earnshaw, Wayne Hennessey, Aaron Ramsey or Ashley Williams?
