    GARETH BALE FUTURE

What's the future of Gareth Bale?

With the Champions League title close at hand, there is much talk out there about the fate of one of the most talented football players on earth. That is Gareth Bale.

Currently, Bale is on loan while his team, Real Madrid, is hoping to win the Champions League title, so no doubt that the football star’s mind is focused on what could have been this year. However, in a few short weeks his contract is set to expire and there are many who are believing that Bale will move on.

    An Impressive Career
Bale built his reputation with Tottenham Hotspur, starring with the club from 2007 through 2013 when he joined Real Madrid. He has been with the Spanish club ever since, signing a six-year contract that was a world record at the time. It was believed that he was earning €91 million per season, a contract that has only been surpassed by Cristiano Rinaldo.

Bale became an instant success with the Spanish club, scoring 15 goals in 27 games during the 2013-14 season, including one during the National Cup. He would add 13 goals the next season, before setting a career-high during the 2015-16 year when he scored 19 goals in 23 games.

In 2019-20, Bale was plagued by injuries, appearing in just 16 games, scoring only two goals. This year he was loaned back to Tottenham Hotspur, appearing in 15 games in scoring six goals. However, he will not be part of the Real Madrid club as they battle to reach the finals on Monday.

Who Might Be Seeking to Sign the Star?
Many football insiders are believing there is no way that Bale will return to Real Madrid. With just 10 total goals over his final two seasons there and being loaned this season, it seems unlikely that the star footballer would want to return. That opens the door for a number of possibilities of where he will turn next season.

The most obvious of these will be a return to Tottenham. They have already shown interest in keeping Gareth Bale next year, and the ability to remain in the Premier league may be enticing enough to keep him playing with the team. In 161 career games he has 48 goals with Tottenham.

Another very likely possibility will be Manchester United stepping up to lure the 31-year-old. With Manchester City battling for the Champions League title, no doubt that Man Utd feels some pressure to step up their game for next year.

A wildcard in this whole scenario could be Newcastle, who received a big investment this past summer. They have already made it clear that they plan to be a player on the world stage and improving the fortunes of the club, and Bale could be the perfect addition.

    We May Have a Problem
There are several clubs in Europe that could use Bale’s skills, but the one thing that may stand in the way of him receiving the best possible offer is attitude. The football star has developed quite a reputation as a bit of the diva, and that is going to be a determining factor as well. One thing for sure, you can be sure that he will be out on the pitch next season helping lead a club to a championship.
