Aaron Ramsey continues to play a huge role for Wales
Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey recently picked up his 70th cap for Wales which leaves him only a handful of games away from the top 10 when it comes to all-time appearances for the country.
Ramsey continues to play a crucial role for Wales. We saw him produce magnificent performances at Euro 2016, helping Wales advance through to the semi-final. In the absence of Gareth Bale, he was also the leader on the field in their recent 1-1 draw with Belgium, which saw them pick up one of the seeded spots in the draw for the 2022 World Cup play-offs.
The Juve man has a lot of experience playing at the highest level in Europe for his current side and Arsenal. He has featured heavily in the Champions League for those two teams, so like Bale, when he wears a Wales jersey, the big occasions do not faze him.
Ramsey Fighting for Selection Under Allegri at Juve Ramsey has played just three times in Serie A this season. Injuries have kept him out of action for parts of the campaign, but as we saw in Wales’ excellent draw with Belgium, Ramsey is now fully fit again.
The Welshman needs to try and prove himself under current boss Massimiliano Allegri. Ramsey joined the Italian giants after Allegri left the club following his first spell in 2019. It may be a case that he needs to show in training what he can produce if given the opportunity in Serie A. Juve tends to play a 4-4-2 formation, something Ramsey is very familiar with. Will McKennie and Manuel Locatelli are currently favoured in the two central midfield positions, so Ramsey may just have to remain patient before he gets his chance.
It’s not just in Serie A that Juventus are looking to have success this season. They have started their Champions League campaign strongly, winning all of their opening four games. Ramsey has featured in two of those victories and if they keep up their impressive form in Europe, they will be regarded as one of the teams who could lift the trophy.
The Italian club and Ramsey are 25/1 in the betting to win the premier European competition this season with bookmakers offering the best free bet codes which means bettors can even qualify for a free bet if they are backing Juventus in the European competition. Regardless, only time will reveal how far Juventus will go. Ramsey Has Been Linked with A Return to Premier League Ramsey is one of a number of players at big European clubs who has been linked with a move to Newcastle United during the January transfer window. After the sale of the club was complete, they are expected to splash the cash in January, in a bid to guarantee their Premier League survival.
The Welshman last played in the top-flight of English football in 2019. If he continues to be left out of Allegri’s starting XI, Ramsey may look for options elsewhere and one of them may be Newcastle, who are clearly set for an exciting project.
Before his future in Italy is decided, Ramsey will be in action again for Wales where he will be looking to help his country book a spot at the World Cup next year. If Wales can achieve qualification, it will be one of the greatest achievements in Welsh football history.
