Wales against the odds.
Wales defied the odds and reached the Euro '16 semi-finals in France, where we eventually lost to Portugal.
Prior to Euro 2016, when the qualifying group draw was made, Wales were around 25/1 to win the group, although finishing a close second to Belgium, from a betting perspective it shows how far we have come as a footballing nation.
However, Wales drew with Serbia in the last qualifying game 1-1 a few months ago, and have their next qualifying match against Ireland in March. It's still very early, but anything can happen in the next few months, especially with their star striker Gareth Bale.
But can we still qualify for the 2018 World Cup? Time will tell. |
