    Women: Algarve Cup

    Wales 2014 World CupJarmo Matikainen has named the women's squad for the Algarve Cup.

    This is an annual invitation tournament held in Portugal that brings-together senior women's teams from all over Europe and beyond. Wales has been invited to participate on a regular basis over the last ten years. The team will play three group matches and then a final positional game between the 6th - 13th March.

    Wales group matches are:

    06.03.13. v Portugal (VRS Antonio)
    08.03.13. v Mexico (VRS Antonio)
    11.03.13. v Hungary (Quarteira)

    This followed by
    13.03.13. Positional Match (Venue to be confirmed).

    In last year's competition, Wales defeated Portugal and Hungary as well as drawing with the Republic of Ireland. In their final positional game, they were defeated by Norway.

    The matches will be in preparation for the next FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying matches. This season, Wales completed the matches in the Women's Euro's with defeat to Scotland. Away friendly games have been played since against the Netherlands (lost 0-2) and Greece (won 3-0).
