Cameron Congreve (Swansea City) born 2004, Midfielder.
A member of last season’s successful Wales Victory Shield squad, Cameron is now a first year scholar at Swansea. He started making appearances for the Swans U-18 team last season and did so in around a half dozen games. He has continued doing so this season but has also been a regular feature for the club’s U-23 team and been involved in a little over half the matches they have played. The coaching staff are obviously impressed and feel confident that he can benefit from the challenge presented at the next level of development football. Cameron’s aim is of course to play first team football and he seems to have made some very positive steps during his short period in a fulltime capacity at the club. Hopefully, there will be a continuation in the progress he is making and in time, fans of both club and country will be excited by the emergence of another young player capable of providing quality performances.

Oliver Ewing (Leicester City) born 2003, Midfielder.
Associated with Fulham for some years as a schoolboy, Oliver moved on to Leicester to join their scholar programme. He started as a scholar last season and played in well over half of the U-18 team games, being unavailable for many of the others through injury. He sustained another injury as this season started and was only fully fit to return to the side in December. Since that time, he has not only played for the U-18 team but has also been involved with the U-23’s as well. Hopefully, he can have an injury free time for the remainder of the season and continue to make a favourable impression on the Leicester coaching staff. As a schoolboy, he played in Wales teams competing in the Victory Shield tournament in the consecutive seasons prior to the last one and then progressed to play at U-17 level. He was selected for the Wales U-17 team that played in the UEFA qualification matches for that age group last season but was unfit through injury and had to withdraw. The team was successful in qualifying for the elite group stage and he was amongst those selected for those games, had the pandemic not caused cancellation of the matches.

Harry Jewitt-White (Portsmouth) born 2004, Midfielder.

As this season began, so did Harry’s time as a scholar at Portsmouth and he became a member of the club’s U-18 squad. It certainly has been an eventful few months for him, as he has already done well enough to have played in two first team matches. He made his debut when coming off the bench in a November EFL Trophy match and played in the last third or so of that game. He has featured in two more matches in the competition, once staying on the bench in the second round and then had a starting role in the third round in January. The management team at the club must believe in his ability to prosper against such opposition at a young age and feel they can prepare him for regular first team football in the quickest manner possible. Harry was a member of last season’s co-champion Wales Victory Shield squad and judging from present trends, will be adding further caps to his collection when age grade international football eventually resumes.

Luke Mariette (Blackpool) born 2003, Midfielder.
After spending some years as a schoolboy associate with Wigan Athletic, Luke has joined Blackpool to become a member of their scholar programme. He has certainly been able to make a good impression on his new coaching staff in his short time of involvement with the club, verified by already having occasions of first team matchday squad inclusions. It has not evolved into a situation where he has made his first team debut, but nevertheless indicative of the quality he must be exhibiting in the development team matches. He has made three appearances on the bench for the first team, the first was for an EFL Trophy match in December and then FA Cup and league matches in January. Although primarily playing for the club’s U-18 team, he will obviously have been encouraged with the recognition of his skills and be determined to get some playing time for the senior side as soon as possible. Luke was involved with the national schoolboy teams and played in the Cymru Cup series of games in the summer of 2018.

Ntazana Mayembe (Cardiff City) born 2003, Forward.
Ntazana had been associated with Cardiff for many seasons as a schoolboy before starting his time as a scholar with the club at the beginning of last season. Making his debut for the U-18 team as a very young player in the 2016/17 season, he made an appearance off the bench for the team and followed that with a few more appearances the next season. In his last season in a schoolboy status and his time as a scholar he has played in roughly a little over half of the games played by the team, last season being a particularly productive one in the goal scoring statistics, as he averaged a goal every other game. Regarded as a wide player, he makes use of his excellent speed and his progress last season was also rewarded with a couple of bench duty games for the first team in January 2020. He recently played and scored for the U-23 team, having also played a few times at that level in previous seasons. Ntazana has represented both England and Wales in schoolboy internationals but has not done so for either nation since that time.

++ to be confirmed if eligible for Wales
