Zachary Bell (Bristol City), born 2004, Forward
An attacking player as a winger, Zac can also provide his team with similar instincts from a midfield role as well. He is a first year scholar with the Robins this season and although I have not been able to locate information about line-ups for the Bristol City youth team this season, I'm sure he has been making appearances for them. The general development philosophy at Ashton Gate for a number of seasons has been to challenge youth team players by exposing them to the demands of U-23 football on occasion. Zac has been considered good enough to be subjected to this experience in the first few weeks of his time as a fulltime player at the club. He was on the bench for one of the U-23 games and did get some game time when introduced as a substitute. Last season, Zac played for the Wales schoolboy team that competed in the Victory Shield matches and if conditions are favourable enough to allow international football to be played in the spring of 2021, he will be a strong candidate for selection for the Wales U-17 squad.

Aaron Bennett (Preston North End), born 2004, Midfielder

After already gaining considerable youth team experience when playing for the Preston U-18 team when he was in a schoolboy status at the club, Aaron will not only be able to add to that by playing this season but will also benefit from the extra training time available to him after having now become a first year scholar. A player with silky skills that provides impetus for his team moving forward and creating assists for team mates, he also has a natural finishing ability that regularly sees him amongst the goal scorers in games as I have noticed in Neil's young players in action updates. In a recent U-18 game which ended in a 5-5 draw, he in fact scored a hattrick when helping the team recover from a large deficit they experienced at one point in the match. Aaron was a member of last season's Welsh Victory Shield squad and was also selected for the Wales squad that competed in the UEFA U-16 development tournament that took place in February of 2020. He was however unavailable and had withdrawn from the squad when the matches took place. A continuation of the form he has exhibited, will undoubtedly provide him an opportunity to represent Wales in the future.

Kai Ludvigsen (Swansea City), born 2004, Defender

Making two appearances for the Swansea U-18 team in the 2018/19 season and then a further half dozen in the last one will have been good preparation experience for Kai as he moves on to the scholar phase of his career this season. As best as I can tell, he has been a regular choice for the U-18 team this season and has also played in at least three games for the U-23 team. He was actually amongst the goal scorers in the latest game the older development team played. The Swansea management team obviously have confidence in his ability and feel he can progress his game by exposing him to sterner challenges. The next step is of course first team football, quite a large one to make from development circumstances, especially when experience at that level is limited. It is however a possibility in the not too distant future using what has transpired in the short period so far as a gauge. It is just conjecture on my part at present and we will have to wait and see if Wales and Swansea teams can benefit in the seasons ahead.

Benjamin Purcell (Reading), born 2004, Midfielder

Ben has played in all of the Reading U-18 team games that have taken place this season and he was also on the bench for the U-23's first game, being introduced to experience football at that level as a second half substitute. He had started playing for the U-18 team last season as an associated schoolboy with the club and would have probably appeared in even more than the handful of games that he did so, had all football at that level not been cancelled because of the pandemic. Now, as a scholar he will want to be challenged to enable him to develop his game and move toward his ambition of succeeding in securing a lengthy career in professional football. He has provided indications that such a path in life is possible for him. Involved with Wales teams throughout his time as a schoolboy and also a member of Wales U-16 squad assembled to take part in the development tournament in the early part of this year, he will want to add to the caps he has already been awarded when age group international games eventually resume.

Zac Williams (Crewe Alexandra), born 2004, Defender
Captain of the Wales schoolboys team and eventual co-champions, that competed in last season's Victory Shield tournament, Zac is referenced in the Crewe website under the name Michael Williams. I understand that his preference is to be acknowledged as Zac and so that is what I have done. He has started his time as a scholar with the club this season and will be aiming to follow in the footsteps of some of those who have preceded him. Crewe has developed a reputation over the past years of producing young players who have eventually left the club to perform in the higher levels of the game, some of those also gaining many caps in senior international football. A defender who is equally adept either in a central or wide role, he can also assist his team by performing very competently in midfield should it be necessary. He has appeared regularly for the Crewe U-18 team this season and will be determined to impress the coaching staff to persuade them to present him increasingly sterner challenges, as he strives to reach first team consideration as fast as possible.
