Young guns news - Sunday 13 May 12

Jonathan Bond (Watford - goalkeeper) Spent the last few weeks of the season on loan at Bury. His season finished with a 3-0 win and a clean sheet against Stevenage. The young stopper may well be pressing for a first team spot next season after the Hornets released rival keeper Rene Gilmartin.

Kayelden Brown (WBA - striker) Made an appearance for the reserves after being out with a long term knee injury. The striker was an 82 minute sub in the 2-1 defeat against Fulham.

Christian Dibble (Bury - goalkeeper)
Has been told that he will be offered a professional contract at the club.

Paul Dummett (Newcastle - defender) Picked up a goal as the reserves beat Team Northumbria on penalties to win the Sage Northumberland Senior Cup this week.

Gwion Edwards (Swansea City - midfielder)
Has signed a three year contract after imrpessing the coaching staff this season. Edwards only signed his first professional contract last year.

Ellis Harrison (Bristol Rovers - striker) Scored twice as the U18's finished the season with a 5-0 win against Plymouth last weekend. The youngster scored twice in front of watching first team manager Mark McGhee

Aaron Amadi-Holloway (Bristol City - defender/midfielder/striker) Has been given the summer and pre-season prove himself and to earn a professional contract at Ashton Gate.

Tom Lawrence (Man Utd - midfielder) Returned to U18 action last Saturday after being on the sidelines with a long term injury. The youngster was a second half sub in the 2-1 defeat to Everton. He also started and played 68 minutes against Blackburn U18's on Wednesday, unfortunately it was once again a narrow defeat for the young Red Devils.

Liam Newell (Birmingham - midfielder) Will spend the summer looking for a new club after being released by the Blues. Unfortunately the end of the season can be cruel for young scholars as clubs decide who stay's and who's released from the academies.

Christian Ribeiro (Bristol City - defender) Will leave the club where he started as an academy member this summer. The talented youngster has not been offered a new deal by manager Derek McInnes.

Elliott Richards (Bristol Rovers - striker) Has signed a new two year contract after impressing during the end of season run in. The youngster scored a hat trick agains Burton Albion during the last home game.
"He has got goals, he has got pace and he has got skill, everything a young striker should have, and he has now got to apply that and make football a lifestyle." Mark McGhee, Bristol Rovers manager

Will Roberts (Coventry - midfielder/forward) Made an appearance off the bench after 34 minutes as the SKY Blues finished with a thumping at Southampton. The youngster may well get more time next season with the SKY Blues struggling for money and now relegated. He also signed his first professional contract with the club last week.

Aryn Williams (Burnley - defender) Made an appearance for the reserves on Monday night. The Wales qualified defender, returning from injury, stepped off the bench after 58 minutes. He has also signed his first professional contract with the club.
