Young guns news - Sunday 30 Oct 11

Callum Antell (Hibs/East Stirlingshire - goalkeeper) Saved a last minute penalty in this weeks 2nd round Scottish cup tie and earned his side a replay this weeekend against Buckie Thistle.

Tom Bradshaw (Shrewsbury - striker) Scored the only goal of the game as the Shrews beat Accrington Stanley 1-0 this week.  Bradshaw swooped at the near post in the first half to steal the points. 

Luke Chambers (Southend - goalkeeper) Kept a clean sheet as the youth team smashed Dagenham & Redbridge 7-0 last Saturday.

Josh Dawkin (Norwich city - midfielder) Has signed for Blue Square Premier side Kettering Town.  Dawkin has made two appearances off the bench, managing to score his first goal in last weekends 2-2 draw with Ebbsfleet.

Paul Dummett (Newcastle - defender) Faces three months on the sidelines after damaging ankle ligaments two weeks ago.  Welsh under-21 international Dummett is currently on crutches and faces a spell of rehabilitation before he can return to action.  He was also due to go out on loan to gain more first team experience.

Aaron Amadi-Holloway (Bristol City - defender/midfielder/striker) & Christian Ribeiro (Bristol City - defender) Started as the reserves beat Exeter 3-2 this week.  Ribeiro picked up an assist in the win.  

Leon Newell (Birmingham - striker) - was on the bench for the reserves against Man utd midweek drawing 0-0 then started for the youth playing full game against reading after being out for 2 months with a hip injury

Aaron Phillips (Coventry - defender) Played 90 minutes as the reserves beat Leicester city 3-1 on Tuesday.  Phillips has been a regular for the youth team over the past couple of seasons.  

Jazz Richards (Swansea City - defender) Has signed an 18 month contract extension at The Liberty after impressing manager Brendan Rodgers.  Richards made his Premier League debut as a sub against Norwich.

Jake Taylor (Reading/Exeter - midfielder) Scored his first senior goal as Exeter beat Rochdale 3-1 last Saturday.  Taylor scored his sides third with a well taken goal.  He also learnt this week that he will be staying at the club for a further month. 

Paul Walker (Northampton/Brackley - goalkeeper) Celebrated a fifth clean sheet for against Mickleover Sports by signing on loan for a further month.  The former Wales youth international seems to have thrived on senior gamw time on loan at Brackley.


Joe Culshaw (Morecambe - defender) Played in centre midfield against Oldham reseves at the Globe Arena. Morecambe winning 4.1

Ryan Doble (Southampton - midfielder) Has returned to Southampton after his two month loan at Bournemouth expired.  The Wales U21 international played eight times for the Cherries.
Jack Evans (Gillingham - defender) Made his senior debut for the Gills as they beat Torquay 5-2 at Plainmoor.  The Wales qualified youngster had some neat touches after coming on in the 90th minute.

Emyr Huws (Man City - midfielder) Played 90 minutes as the City U18's lost 4-2 against Celtic in the Next Gen series on Monday night.

Robbie Parry (Wolves - midfielder) Scored twice as the U18's beat Man city 3-0 last Saturday.  The Wales youth international scored his two first goals.

Josh Pritchard (Fulham - midfielder) Was in action at The Liberty as the Swans drew 0-0 with the Cottagers on Monday night.  The Wales qualified midfielder played 90 minutes.

Christian Ribeiro (Bristol City - defender) Made a match day appearance for the Robins as they lost 2-1 to Peterborough last weekend.  Ribeiro has once again suffered from injuries this season, but could well profit from a change in manager now that Keith Millen has been replaced.

Paul Walker (Northampton/Brackley - goalkeeper) Has kept four clean sheets in the last five games as he enjoys his loan experience with Brackley Town.

Jon Williams (Crystal Palace - midfielder) Stepped off the bench to win a penalty as the Eagles continued the great run of form with a 1-0 win against Bristol City at Selhurst Park.

Young guns news - Sunday 9 Oct 11

Luke Chambers (Southend - goalkeeper) Returned from a two week injury lay off to keep a clean sheet as the U18's beat Millwall 1-0 last weekend.  The Wales youth international had been suffering from an ankle injury. 

Ibrahim Farrah (Cardiff City - midfielder) Scored as a Bluebirds development side drew 1-1 with Birmingham in the Midlands.  The youth international scored from the spot to earn a share of the spoils. 

Jordan Holt (Hull - defender) Played 90 minutes as the Tigers U18's beat Grimsby 3-0 and claimed a first clean sheet of the season. 

Will James (Blackburn/Carlisle - defender) Will return to Blackburn after his spell at Carlisle Utd after problems arose with the work experience package. 

Tom Lawrence (Man Utd - midfielder) Picked up an injury and was replaced as the U18's lost 3-1 in a mini derby against rivals City last weekend. 

Alex Nicholson (Newcastle - defender) Played his part as the U18's thumped Sunderland 4-0 in the derby last Saturday.  The youngster came close to getting on the score sheet, but his shot was well saved by the keeper.

Jack Nardiello (Stoke - striker) Is now at Stoke academy after leaving Leicester City.  The Wales youth international made an appearance off the bench as the U18's beat Crewe 2-1. 

Robert Ogleby (Hearts/East Fife - striker) Scored as East Fife beat Forfar 4-3 last Saturday.  

Will Roberts (Coventry - midfielder) Netted his first of the season as the U18's beat Spurs 2-0 last weekend.  Roberts is the brother of former  Man Utd academy midfielder Tomos Roberts. 

Mason Spence (MK Dons - defender) Was back after injury as the U18's lost 4-2 to Cardiff City last weekend.  The full back had plenty of joy on the flank but the Bluebirds proved too powerful with Gethyn Hill (Cardiff City - striker) scoring the fourth.

Casey Thomas (Swansea City - striker) & Joe Walsh (Swansea City - defender) Picked up some game time as a Swans XI played Llanelli in midweek.  Both started in the 2-0 win. 

James Wilson (Bristol City - defender) Has signed a new three year contact at the club after impressing with personal performances even though the results for the team have not.


Young guns news - Sunday 2 Oct 11

Kayleden Brown (WBA - striker) Helped set up a goal before limping off in the 3-0 win over Sunderland this week.  

Michael Doughty (QPR/Crawley - midfielder) Made an impression after coming on as a replacement against Aldershot at the weekend.  Doughty struck the post only to watch it bounce back and turned in by one of his team mates as Crawley won 1-0. 

Paul Dummett (Newcastle - defender) was up against U21 team mates Daniel Alfei (Swansea city - defender) & Lee Lucas (Swansea City - midfielder) on Wednesday night as the reserves clashed at Parc y Scarlets.  The Magpies ran out 5-3 winners in a very entertaining game. 

Tom Lawrence (Man Utd - midfielder) Returned from injury as the U18's lost 3-2 to Blackburn weekend.  Lawrence was also on the score sheet with a sweetly struck curler into the top of the net. 

Paul Walker (Northampton - goalkeeper) Started his first game of the season for Brackley Town on loan last Saturday.  Walker kept a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw. 

Jonathan Williams (Crystal Palace - midfielder) Made another appearance off the bench as the Eagles crashed 1-0 to Doncaster last weekend.   Williams started in midweek as the Eagles came from behind to beat high flying Brighton 3-1.
